Scan to BIM, facades first

From a laser scan to a reviewed IFC model.

Upload a terrestrial scan. AutoIFC proposes every window, door and vent, measures each one against your point cloud, and you accept, reject or adjust before the IFC leaves the platform. Running and reviewing are free: you pay per square metre of facade only when you download the model.

E57, LAS, LAZ and PLY · packs from $49 for 1,000 m² of facade · 500 free credits on every new account · every figure on this page is measured, see Accuracy.

How it works

Four steps, one of them yours.

  1. 01

    Upload the scan

One file, up to 5 GB, in E57, LAS, LAZ or PLY. The facade is measured from the returns at upload and its area quoted before anything is charged.

    150 M points measured in 70 s

  2. 02

    AutoIFC reads the facade

Every window, door, vent, railing and wall is proposed as a real IFC element, in metres, each one carrying how confident the read was.

    minutes, not days

  3. 03

It is measured against your cloud

Every proposed element is measured against the points you uploaded. Where the scan cannot support a dimension, the element says so instead of guessing.

measured, or it says why not

  4. 04

    You review, then download

Accept, reject or edit each element in the 3D viewer, with keyboard shortcuts for speed. The reviewed IFC is generated from your decisions.

IFC 4 · reviewed and proposed variants

The AutoIFC review panel beside the 3D viewer, with a window selected and framed in the point cloud.
A real run: 96 elements reviewed against 5 million displayed points, one window selected and framed in the cloud.

Measured, not promised

The last numbers we have.

Scored against a surveyor's own model of the same building. We publish how much of the facade comes back and what evidence each element carries; we do not publish a tolerance, and the Accuracy page says why.

Windows found
99%
of the surveyor's windows; 94 % of ours are theirs
Wall surface covered
96%
of the reference surface, and all of ours lies on it
Elements carrying a measurement
98.6%
the rest say what was assumed, and why
On buildings nobody had read
75%
of the windows, on a street scan four times thinner

One named building of a surveyed estate, against the surveyor's own IFC; the last figure is six buildings of a street scan no reader had seen. Why we publish completeness and provenance rather than a tolerance, and the per-axis errors if you need a number: the Accuracy page.

The review

The model never leaves without a person looking at it.

Automatic scan-to-BIM fails quietly: a missed window, a door drawn as a window, a box floating 20 cm off the wall. AutoIFC makes every one of those visible, and makes fixing it a keystroke.

Each element carries its confidence and whether it was measured. An element that could not be measured is labelled as such, with the reason, so you know where to look first.

  • Accept, reject, edit with A, R and E; J jumps to the next proposed element.
  • Bulk decisions on any filtered list, always behind a confirmation.
  • Every box says how it was obtained: fitted to the cloud, or kept as drawn and why.
  • Two IFCs: the proposal as generated, and the reviewed model built from your decisions.

What you get

Built for the people who sign the drawing.

Standard IFC 4

Walls, windows, doors, vents, railings and slabs as proper IFC entities with stable GUIDs across re-exports. Opens in Revit, Archicad, BIMcollab or any viewer.

Metres, not pixels

Every element lives in the facade's own frame, in metres. Edits are typed as dimensions, not dragged by eye.

3D viewer with the scan

The point cloud and the model in one view, per-class visibility, elevation views per facade. Share a read-only link with your client.

Pay per square metre

Running and reviewing are free. The IFC download charges the facade area actually modelled, once per run. No subscription, no seat, no minimum.

Your scans stay yours

Files are stored in your own project space, downloadable at any time, and deleted with the project. Nothing trains on them.

A REST API

Create projects, upload, launch and collect deliverables by REST, with signed webhooks for every state change. Same engine, same review.
